Timbuk2 Uptown Laptop Backpack, Carbon/Carbon Ripstop, One Size Review

I am severely disappointed in this bag. I have owned two Timbuk2 bags prior to this and I always swallowed the price tag because of the unbelievable quality and durability of their bags. This is clearly not the case on the Uptown. Upon receiving I noticed how cheaply made the bag was:
No reinforced bottom.
Straps thin and single stiched.
Ultrathin pack material.
Worst of all, the carrying handles are a joke. The thinnest single piece of nylon I have ever seen a pack. My 1990's Jansport made this feel like a glass egg!

At first I thought I was the victim of poor quality control, but even on the Timbuk2 site there are customers crying out for more durability on this pack! WAKE UP TIMBUK2!!

By the way, my strap broke at the bottom during my first trip to work. So it was really fun carrying my backpack around in my arms like a sack all day!
To give you an idea, it had a small 15" laptop, Ipad, a 1"binder, three pens and my car keys. I admit one of those pens weighed a few ounces, but come on! Seriously, the bag was no where near it's proposed weight or size capacity.

It's just really sad to see a grassroots company like Timbuk2 sell out to try and make a buck from the people who backed you from the beginning.

Needless to say, thanks to Amazon, the bag is going back and I'll never trust in Timbuk2 again. I can only hope you learn from my mistake and steer clear.

The Booq Boa Squeeze is certainly a unique looking bag, it's small but yet it can hold a lot inside of it including your laptop up to 15" in size and any accessories for it.

The backpack is very well made of rugged and durable material that's also water repelling. The seams are stitched with heavy thread and the zippers are high quality name brand YKK ones that should last through everyday uses.

The Boq Squeeze is a smaller type bag so keep that in mind, it's not meant to be an overnight bag obviously but it's more than large enough to carry your laptop and stuff for classes in everyday. You could also use it as a carry-on bag while travelling, it's small but yet you can fit a lot in it. The Boa Squeeze is deceptive, it looks much smaller than it really is, you can carry a lot more than you think you could just by looking at it.

The bag is priced at $130, so some might consider that expensive but you're getting a high quality bag that should feasibly last for years so you could think of it as an investment really.

You can't go wrong with a Booq bag as far as I'm concerned, my experience with them has been nothing but great really. I'm actually giving this bag to my 8yr old son for school as a book bag. No he's not going to be carrying a laptop with him, he's going to be carrying his books and supplies which can be heavier, and I'm confident that it will last him all year and beyond as it's just a great quality bag.

I picked this laptop up at Walmart for $350 (What a Steal!). Its fast and has lots of cool features. This laptop did not have a DVD burner or disk drive, but I knew this before hand. ALWAYS DO YOUR RESEARCH! The speakers were fairly loud at 50%, I couldn't see a need for me to ever need to go to 100% volume, because it gets LOUD. I also like how slim it is. I would recommend this laptop to anyone!

LG 24" Wide 1080p Slim LED Monitor, VGA, DVI Review

I discovered this monitor by chance just searching and thinking about a monitor to upgrade my older LCD monitor. My old monitor was good for back when 720p was good enough, but that cost me over $250 and was only 17" and wasn't really wide. This LG is a significant step up as it has 1080p resolution and is working fantastic. Colors are rich. Text is very clear even with very small fonts. The monitor is extremely light wt. Instead of the typical AC computer power connector we've seen on monitors since the old monochrome CRTs of the 90s, this is replaced by a small AC/DC adapter. How awesome is that. Power savings and great graphics! And very affordable. I might need to go back and grab me another one of these to replace another older monitor I have for my wife.

I am very happy I found this monitor.

CONS:
The hookup to the provided stand is not as sturdy as I would like. The monitor has a tendancy to jiggle a bit even as I am typing. It's a minor annoyance, but nothing I can't get use to. If I'm watching videos, I'm likely not going to be typing or otherwise causing vibration on the desk to cause it to jiggle, If it is a big problem for you, the monitor does have a standard wall plate in back so you could attach it to a stand or wall hanger if you want.

No HDMI, but DVI works fine for me as a PC monitor
