Corsair Raptor K50 Gaming Keyboard (CH-9000007-NA) Review

Let me start by saying that I have been very impressed with the membrane keys on this keyboard. I own a mechanical keyboard with cherry switches and was worried that I would either end up returning this keyboard or gifting it to a friend. Turns out that isn't the case which is fantastic because I absolutely love the macro key setup and the nearly limitless color choices for the backlighting.

I'll start with the pros:
As I already stated, very high quality keys with a very robust feel.
3 profiles for the 18 macro keys that can be quickly switched via hotkeys.
Beautiful backlighting.
Good weight ensures the keyboard won't slide about the desk.
USB pass-through.
Textured volume knob is far superior to your standard up and down keys.
Very comfortable detachable wrist support.
4 adjustment legs instead of just 2.
Windows lock key is a great option for gamers.
The membrane keys honestly compare pretty well to the cherry switches on my mechanical board.
Lots of options for customization in the software available for download from Corsair.

Cons:
The only problem I've had so far is that when you try and fine tune the color of the backlighting you have to use the sliders for Red, Green, and Blue because the color palette is rather clunky. You either end up with a dark version of about 5 colors or white. Maybe they'll make it a little easier to use in an update later.

it just simply works and works well. what a concept. I have used this on dozens of EMR installs and along with the larger cards with more line support. The card is rock solid. Try explaining to a specialist he did not get referral faxed in because your fax card took a dump. These things are tanks. Its a reason why most mid level emr's recommend these cards. Even large hospital wide fax solutions use the bigger cards. We have migrated all customers to these cards even replacing out of warranty broketrout (lol) cards with these. and yes GFI fax maker works well for all you allscripts/misys guys out there.

Sometimes when there is a small power interruption the A/C in my server room kicks off and doesn't come back on. When this happens the servers heat up at a very rapid rate and before I bought this sensor I had no way of knowing there was a problem and have had several occasions where I came into work to find an extremely hot room with server fans running at full speed. Being a small company we couldn't afford a fancy monitor but I knew I had to use something or possibly come in to work one day with a room full of dead servers. I searched around for affordable solutions and came across this inexpensive little monitor. The installation was very quick and easy and the very first week I used it I received email and text notifications that the room was heating up. This allowed me to come into work and restart the A/C before any damage was done to the equipment. Lexmark 28D0050 Wireless Color Photo Printer Review

I just got the unit yesterday, so this is an early review. It looks like Lexmark updated their full laser range last year with a new print engine. From what I can tell it's not a 3rd party engine but one genuinely designed and owned by Lexmark. There are no proper reviews online.

1200x1200 dpi is uncommon at this price - don't get fooled by printers that quote 2400x600 dpi. That's a 600dpi engine - they count each color (CMYK) as extra resolution, so by that twisted math this is a 4800x1200 printer.

I'm upgrading from a Konica Minolta 2400w, which was terribly unreliable, and yet had suprisingly good photo print quality for it's price.

Initially I noticed the B&W text was not as smooth as the 2400w and quite blocky. This should not be with a 1200dpi laser, so a few driver setting tweaks fixed that. I've only done 1 color print and there was faint toner transfer streaking, probably from shipping, but I expect that'll go away after a few more prints. It looks like it's a top performing laser for photo prints.

One thing to point out is the lexmark branded toner refils look to be pricey. Also, I didn't have success upgrading the printer's memory with working DDR3 memory sticks I had lying around from various laptops, even though the slot is standard. I ended up trying sticks of both 1GB and 2GB and it would't get past booting up. But since this is a personal printer, it's not going to be a big deal for me. There's always the official manufacturers memory.

Overall, it looks very promising, well engineered and has high quality output. With the current discounts, it's very attractive.

Aug 2013 update: 3 months later and I'm still very happy with the purchase and have no problems to report. I should mention that I found duplex printing is quick too.
