I was considering going the less expensive route. After speaking with my local electronics store they had said many customers had complained of their cheap purchases not living up to the reviews. Their recommendation was to purchase an "original" Phillips bulb. It had been noted to last longer and provide a much brighter display. They were correct!

As a side note: Make sure and clean the three fans in the back of the TV. This is probably why your bulb blew in the first place. Open up your back panel first. When you see the hardware there are three screws at the bottom of the unit. Take them out, unplug the connecting cables and the whole unit will come out for cleaning.
