Dell XPS 8700 X8700-1251BLK Desktop Review

I needed a new PC to do video editing. This PC runs Sony Vegas on the BEST settings in the video preview settings with no hiccups. It also renders video, set at blueray settings at lightning speeds. Im using a Canon Vixia g20 to film, and the files are huge. My previous PC would always shut down trying to render those files ( 2.4GHZ QUAD CORE, 4 GIG RAM ). Not this one. This computer is a BEAST.

I havent tested any high end games yet. The video card is good, not the best, but good. For true hard core gamers you may wanna upgrade the card and the memory to 32 gigs. But for me, 8 gigs is enough. I might go up to 16 just in case we wanna do some high end games. But games like SWOTOR, run like melted butter on this beast, and Im sure others would as well.

As far as windows 8, it is not that bad at all. The people complaining about it are either idiots, or too lazy to learn a new simple program. Its basically windows 7 with some added apps and screens. I took about an hour to play with it and its simple and I think its actually better and more responsive. So dont believe all the negative reviews on windows 8.

I was about to buy one of those crappy cybertron Pcs. Glad I didnt. If you want quality, GET THIS DELL. ITS FAST & RELIABLE.
