I did a lot of research on NAS's out there when my Western Digital Raid 5 NAS went belly up. QNAP and Synology seemed to be the top tier brands. QNAP is apparently very popular in the UK, and less so in the States. This model is hundreds of dollars less than the TS-269 Pro, but for a small shop it is great. The Pro has locks on the hard drives and a faster Atom CPU, but I don't miss either of those features. "Diskless" NAS devices might seem scary to the neophyte, but I bought two WD RED hard drives and they pop in very easily. We set ours up with RAID 1 (mirrored disks) and we have an external storage device attached. The back-up utilities are very good. The administration panel is very easy to use. This is the way to go.
