I added this to my desktop machine as a secondary drive so my operating system and programs get installed on the default 2TB drive and I keep all my important files on this new 4TB SEAGATE ST4000DX000 Barracuda. I also bought a back-up 4TB external drive to match this one so I sync them up now and then and keep my external drive in my storm shelter in case of a tornado so I don't lose everything in a worse case scenario. This new drive has been working flawless for me for the last few months now with no issues at all and is very quiet and the SATA connection was easy and recognized by my Windows 8 OS. What more can I say, it just works!
