This was a little difficult to set up. I had to use Linux to overwrite my disks partition tables. This in effect "reformat's the disk" even though I didn't bother overwriting all the old data. You can do this with a Linux live CD if you don't have it installed on your computer. This was a great deal for the less than 2 bill's that I paid. I would give it a 6 in value if I could. Speed is about double my other NAS with 3 3TB drives installed. On my consumer grade gigabit router to/from a single SSD drive write speed to the NAS is about 60MB/s and read is at least 70MB/s possibly higher (don't have much space on that SSD to test with). It isn't the most feature rich OS but seeing as I was using a previous version of the EMC software on my old NAS it was a step up. It is smaller than I thought which is good. I wish I could turn off the blue lcd on the front instead of just turning it down. Build quality seems good but I have only owned it for a month or so and its hard to tell.
