Lenovo ThinkPad X230t 34352TU i7-3520M 2.9GHz 8GB 500GB 7200rpm Touch Tablet with Dock Review

This line of ThinkPad was required for my school this semester. When I turned it on, the first thing I do with my PCs is get the Windows Updates. Had a mess of trouble getting them installed. Moral of the story, do not connect the dock while updating. After factory restoring the computer 3 times, I managed to get them installed by booting to clean boot. I got all the updates on eventually but the ThinkVantage System Update program from Lenovo got uninstalled and will not reinstall. Definitely needed to put that 14 hour hassle on here and I have refused to factory reset again just for that System Update program from Lenovo. I am very dedicated with this stuff so I was not too bummed out.

Once those issues were taken care of/ignored, I found that the machine is very capable. The tablet screen is pretty nice. The pen bumps a little on the screen making me think I am damaging it but it has not! Everything seems to be running great. I have even tested some games on it. That is the only downside to all of these ThinkPads, the Intel HD Graphics 4000 is low class, would have been nice to get something a little more powerful for the price but what can I say? This laptop will be for school. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone wanting to play games but it is a great machine for personal, business, and school use. I look forward to working with my engineering programs.

Even with the low class graphics, I can play games like Skyrim on low and still enjoy the game. However, I do not think I will be keeping it on here much longer. No need for temptations during class.

Dock has the DVD drive built in, not on the machine.

Dock also turned off my computer the two times I attacked it while on. Be careful about that.
