I will start by saying it does what it is supposed to, and works great.

However, i misunderstood some of the form functionality and thought i could use an different external antenna, should i choose to. However, this radio's external antenna option is disabled and all the dish is doing is focusing what the internal antenna broadcasts.

In my particular application the signal is weak, but working. If i could use a Yagi antenna, i could overcome the obstacles in the way. This particular unit requires a more unobstructed and direct line of sight, even though it is considered a NOLS frequency.

Should your application be direct line of sight over a long distance, this is a great unit at a great price (i have used other paired bridge units costing $1,000 and like this one much better). Just be aware that you can only use the reflector supplied, and if you run into problems there are no second options for antenna even though there is an external antenna connection.
