Keep in mind that I have only used this product for three days and will update periodically.

PROS

**Ease of Use: This split keyboard is very easy to adjust and takes mere seconds to set up.

**I found the max angle and distance between the left and right halves of the keyboard to be more than sufficient for my needs. You can see read about the products limitations as far as angle/splay in the product description.

**Actuation Force: It requires less force to press down these keys compared to a standard desktop keyboard, but you still get the satisfying click when you press down the keys and I don't find it to be "mushy." For RSI sufferers, the difference in force required between this and a regular keyboard seems marginal on paper, but it made a big difference to me. After just three days of use, I already feel less tension in my hands.

**Low Profile: Folds in half for travel.

**Size: Chop off the numeric keypad on a standard desktop keyboard, and you will get about the width of this keyboard. As a result, it is easier to use the mouse to the right or left of the keyboard without reaching. This is a surprisingly big deal for me because I hate reaching for the mouse at that odd angle 1000 times a day; it adds up.

**Quiet: It is more quiet than most, and significantly more quiet than my desktop keyboard.

**Learning Curve: I got used to the layout quickly, but I'm used to typing on a smaller keyboard width-wise and I can easily see other touch typists taking some time getting used to the layout.

**Can be set up on your lap without difficulty.

**Compatible with Macs, although I haven't tested that claim yet.

**When the keyboard is folded in half, there are rubberized magnets that keep the keyboard together without damaging the pieces inside.

**It feels sturdy, both with the lever used to hold the keyboard angle in place and the ball-and-socket joint that adjusts the angle/splay.

**You can toggle the Fn key and the Numeric Keypad separately. You can use the Functional (when Fn is toggled on of course) Volume up, down, and mute buttons, found on F4, F5, and F6 buttons, respectively without activating the numeric keypad,.

**In theory, it is possible to use a low-profile touch mouse in between/under the keyboard at maximum splay/angle combination. This is likely to prove impractical but it is hasn't been tested yet.

CONS

**Although the keyboard folds nicely and solidly in half, the USB cord is not detachable. Why would the designers not simply use a USB to micro USB cable that is standard on a $100 keyboard is beyond me. The cord that connects the keyboard to USB is strong but will probably weaken over time with travel. I have been carrying this to and from work in the box that it came in, which is only slightly larger than the keyboard itself. This is not a major inconvenience for me but I think would be for frequent travelers. Some may want to wait for the Bluetooth version.

**It is easy to get small crumbs in between (and under) the keys. Because the keys are very close together, I don't see an easy way of removing them. I can see this being a problem down the road.

**There is practically no separation between keys, but each key is slightly elevated. If you use the F keys a lot and do so without looking at the keyboard, this may be an insurmountable problem.

**It is difficult to hit the Alt key every time if you are a strictly a touch typist and rarely look down at the keyboard, as the Alt and Windows/Command keys are very close to each other and similarly sized. For the same reason, the Fn key may be pressed accidentally instead of the Ctrl key. I've gotten used to this after a few days and now hit the wrong key infrequently, but I really would like for the Ctrl key to be in the left-bottom corner of the keyboard as is standard on most keyboards. I do not see this as a long-term issue.

**The Home, Page Up, Page Down, and End keys are all aligned along the left side, all the same size, which I'm sure is annoying to those used to the standard keyboard layout.

**After you travel with this keyboard, you cannot find the "exact" same angle when you set it up the next time; BUT you can get it so close that I would only consider this a con if you have serious OCD.

**The arrow keys are small, but I've had no problem using them. People with above-average hand sizes might want to pass. Also, the Print Screen button is right next to the arrow keys and gets accidentally hit regularly. As a result, you may find yourself trying to copy and paste text and accidentally pasting a screenshot.

**I can't say this from experience, but I believe that it won't do well with spills based on reviews of other Goldtouch keyboards.

**This may be the only review of this product that you can find as of 10/9/13, so it might be worth it to wait until others weigh in on whether this is worth a buy.

**Most of the time, The Esc, Home, Page Up keys make a distinct clicking noise that is far louder than the otherwise quiet keyboard. It gets annoying when they have to be used freqently and also makes the keyboard feel a little less solid. None of the other keys face this issue and is either a defect in the design or a manufacturing error (most likely). Will Ergowarehouse replace this somewhat defective (but otherwise awesome) product? That is yet to be seen and I will update accordingly.

VERDICT

This is BY FAR the most comfortable keyboard I've ever typed on, and I will certainly keep it. It has already helped to ease the pain I get from typing for long periods and I would recommend this for people who suffer from RSI. For editors, I think this keyboard is for you.

For computer programmers, the close proximity of the Alt button to the Windows/Command key, as well as the Fn to the Ctrl key is likely a deal-breaker even though that is purely conjecture. I obviously can't attest to the longevity of this product; if you travel with it a lot and without a case, I think the cord that is not detachable from the keyboard will wear out over time. If you can't just throw it in a bag and "Go!", it defeats what many would consider one half of the purpose of this device. If Goldtouch put a micro USB port into this device (making the USB cord detachable), this would make an otherwise durable product an easy buy.
