Microsoft Surface Pro 128GB SSD Core i5 Digitizer Pen 10.6" 1080P 1920x1080 Dual Camera MicroSD Review

I have had my Surface Pro 128 GB for three weeks now. (Bought from MSFT Store) In creating this review, I realize it is difficult to separate the hardware from the Win 8 software, and my early learning of this tablet was complicated by the Win 8 OS, not the hardware.
Surface -
PRO: Excellent display, responsive touch, sturdy construction, easy to use stylus, sufficient capacity to enable such applications as Photoshop, fast "disk" read/write (SSD), good wi-fi, USB and microSDHC connections.
CON: 4 1/2 hr. Battery life, no cellular data built-in.
I also use the "Type" cover, which should be reviewed separately, but which, except for the absence of the "INS" key, performs well.
My experience with other tablets is limited to IPAD - the ability to run actual applications (as opposed to "Apps") makes all the difference to me. For my uses, I need an actual computer, not a toy. Surface Pro provides the computer; Win 8 provides the opportunity to run "Apps," if that's what one wants. I CAN have it both ways, after all.
I can watch DVD movies by using Virtual CD to extract the DVD to a set of files, place them on a microSDHC, and play them on the Surface. Or, I can watch Netflix straight from the web.
I can use my AT&T dongle for cellular data via the USB connection, but it would be nice to have that capacity built in.
The only thing I can't yet work around is the battery life. I hope that aftermarket external battery packs may soon be available, or the MSFT will come through with their intimated "type cover with battery."
In summary, if you want a real computer in a tablet, I can recommend the Surface Pro.
