LaCie 3TB Cloudbox (9000344) Review

The 3tb version contains a Seagate drive that makes a distinct and massively annoying chirping sound every few minutes. It takes about a week of use before it begins. The indicator light flashes as well. Lacie has no fix for this noise and it is **DISTRACTING**. In a quiet room it will drive you crazy. Sounds like a bird caught high up in the rafters. Sort of like Chinese water torture. You just wait for the next chirp/click/buzz. And you wonder how long before the drive fails because this noise is not normal. I called Lacie support and apparently they have been inundated with complaints so they certainly know about it but they refuse to make good. I tried to get them to refund my money and they won't. They sent a refurbished drive and within a few days...CHIRP! BUZZ! CLICK! You've been warned thats all I can say!
