This bag, like other pelican products, is extremely well made, very sturdy, and super protective. It is a unique bag that fits my needs as something that will protect a laptop and camera kit during a half-dozen intercontinental flights and a month of driving in mountains and checking into hotels. I ended up taking out the camera pouch and stuffing a different camera backpack (lowepro flipside sport 15L) into the main compartment and it works well.

Pros:

Hard shell laptop compartment.

Side access to padded camera compartment.

Hard plastic camera compartment lid.

Surprisingly comfortable

Cons:

Camera compartment could have more padding, or just more foam on the bottom of the bag to protect things when it is set down.

Laptop compartment could have more padding to hold the computer in place when it is shut (I have a thin computer and ended up putting it in a sleeve, then into the compartment).
