SHUTTLE XS35V2 PC Barebone System Review

I bought one of these to replace my itunes server for my apple airs. I wanted something that I could leave running 24 hours a day and consumed very little energy. This CPU does both plus no fan to wear out. I liked it so much I bought a second one for my frontroom, where I do most of my internet surfing and game playing.
What you should know. Size of componets are very important as these CPUs are very small. Here are the componets I put in both units I bought. All are sold on Amazon or Tigerdirct.

1. New Liteon Dvd Rw Ds-8a5s Slim 8x Sata Without Software Black Bulk High Efficient Power Saving Modes

2. Hitachi Travelstar 2.5-Inch 7mm 320 GB 5400RPM SATA II 8 MB Cache Internal Hard Drive 0A78603

3. 2GB 204-PIN Sodimm DDR3 ( Have ordered a 4GB but not sure it will fit yet)

All put together comes up to about $300.00 (That's including the CPU).

Performance is ok. Not a high end gaming machine for sure, but I can watch itunes movies on it without or very little freezes during play back. It actually does better than my 3.06Gz Pentium I built for video editing and gaming years ago.
Please note that a BIOS upgrade is available for these. Very easy to patch if you haven't done it before.
If the thought of building a computer is a bit intimidating, These are a breeze. Just screw in a couple screws and plug it in. Done. Be aware that you will need to buy your own operating system to put on your new CPU.
